Earthquake

The earthquake was like rock and roll
dancing in my nightmare
It fox trotted me in and out of sleep
Leaving me teary and sad.

Goodbye (Poem)

As I hug you for the final time,
Tears begin to sting in my eyes,
Why do I have to go?
I cry to myself.

A few weeks ago ten students went to a writing course. I was one of them.

Writing Recount

Before Keith went to school he fell off his pony. He broke his elbow. He got on a steam train and went and lay down in the guards van. The got off in Christchurch then had to get on the tram to get to the hospital. I don't like that Grandad broke his elbow , but the doctor must have fixed it , then Grandad would have felt much better.

Autumn leaves.

Green leaves. Yellow leaves. Red leaves and brown falling. Falling blanketing the town. Oak leaves, maple leaves and pear. Falling. Whispering. Autumns in the air. Big leaves. Little leaves. Pointed leaves and round. Falling. Nestling. Carpeting the ground.

UNDER THE SEA

There are forests of seaweed and deserts of sand. There are valleys and mountains just as on land. The forests are dark the sand is piled high and the fish dart over like in the sky.

Cross-Country recount

On the 17th of May the Amberly School children held there senior Cross-Country.
It was a warm windy day. The afternoon started with the 8 & 9 year old girls followed by the 8 & 9 year old boys. At first a few falls and tears then everybody got on with it. At the end of every race there was not one person that looked tired and exhausted . You could just see all the childrens' smiles on their faces knowing they had finished their race with success. There was also a lot of enthusiasm and cheering as the other people sprinted down the finish line. The day ended with a lolly scramble, after that I was pretty sure everyone enjoyed their race even if they didn't get into Kowai.
Here are a few quotes from some kids before and after their races.

What feeling did you have before and after the race?

Zoe felt competitive and amazed when she finished!
Rhiannon felt competitive and amazed when she finished!
Sean felt awesome at the start and finish!
Brianna felt excited when she started and finished!
Jayden felt like he was going to die or kill himself!
Dean felt nervous at the start and happy at the end!

My holiday in the usa

The wind slowly but coldly blows at my face as i walk out of a casino in Las Vegas.

A scarce look comes over my face as i walk out on a thin sheet of glass that looks over the grand canyon.

I shiver as i wait for my mum to come out of the fog on the golden gate bridge in San Fransisco.

All of the shop's in Vancouver call out to my sister's visa.

The boat slowly cruse's past glacier's and river's from the snowy mountain's.

The free jewelery is to much for me. I want to throw it into the mouths of sea lions from Alaska's town's.

The Santa Monica pier stretches for miles out to sea with shop's on either side.

The rush in Anaheim is amazing, It's all just to get to Disneyland.

From all of this i have realised that i want to do it all again some day.

I wrote a poem at handwriting and i think its really cool and here it is!
I am yellow when i am happy,
I am red when i am angry,
I am purple when i am excited,
I am pink when i am embarrassed,
I am green when i am sick,
I am grey when i am shy,
I m black when i am scared,
I am brown when i am astonished,

But i heart you!
